bioNEWSummer A. Boothe was born on July 14, 1973. She has been an artist since a very young age and always found shelter in her own world to escape life’s monstrosity. A world which she calls "The Dark Carnival" and "The Happy Darkside". She has been painting her world in this expressive style for over ten years. It is a style which best reflects her sense of humor and view of the world. Summer became "Miss Behave" in her mid-twenties, anointed by a comrade for the way she lives her life.

The most inspiring person who drove Summer to put her art in the public eye was Sarah Mattson. A fellow artist and Summer Boothe’s best friend, Sarah was born on June 6, 1972, and her life ended on September 11, 2000. She was a beautiful, intelligent idealist and a damn good artist. Summer had never known someone so much like herself. A short time before Sarah died, she pushed Summer to show in public. It had immediate results; with Summer selling 3 out of 5 paintings in her show that evening. Miss Behave might not have ever come out of her shell if it wasn’t for Sarah.

She said to Summer, “Do not care of what people think of you; I no longer care what they think of me…”. Sarah also mentioned: “Where one gallery may not accept my art, another will! Do not let anyone crush your spirit!”

When Summer was named Miss Behave, Sarah was present. Friends were calling Sarah “Miss Sarah”. Sarah’s response was “Do not call me something so boring and innocent, call me Misstake!”

Sarah Mattson did make a mistake that ended her life exactly a year before the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. In the mind of Miss Behave, September 11th is an extremely condemned date. Miss Behave carries on the Misstake legacy; though there is plenty of heartache, it is set aside, for every showing is for both Summer and Sarah.

SnS came to symbolize Summer and Sarah. Miss Behave’s mission is to prove true passion in art and love never dies. "Welcome to the Dark Carnival, for there is a Happy Darkside".

Rock on Sarah Mattson, for the postman will be at your door with his bag bursting of letters from the ‘uncrushable spirit', Miss Behave. biopic2
